PIMCO warns the $1.8T private credit market is developing a โconfidence gapโ as investors scrutinize manager marks and loan quality, per Bloomberg. PIMCO says continued redemptions could force funds to sell liquid assets and eventually lead to markdowns, secondary-market discounts, or realized losses. $APO, $ARES, $BLK, and $BX are reportedly still facing elevated withdrawal requests in Q2.

TWO YEARS AGO, BLACKROCK $BLK CEO LARRY FINK CALLED THIS ALMOST EXACTLY His prediction back then: "Every stock, every bond will have its own" identifier, all on one ledger. He said tokenization would bring instantaneous settlement, strip out the cost of clearing trades, and let strategies be customized to every single investor. At the time it sounded like a distant vision. Now watch what's actually happening. Our partners at Ondo just crossed $3 billion in cumulative volume on tokenized perpetuals. The thing Fink described as the future of financial assets is being built right now. Real-world assets are moving onchain, exactly the direction he pointed to two years ago. The vision was 2024. The volume is 2026.

BLACKROCK CEO LARRY FINK: THE HIDDEN BARRIER TO AI SUCCESS He says AI will only benefit everyone if compute becomes cheaper and power becomes more reliable: - Compute is still expensive, and Fink says the real question is how quickly hyperscalers can bring costs down - He is not worried about BlackRock $BLK paying for AI, but worries how small and medium businesses will compete - He says the US needs better grid systems, more consistent power, and should be power agnostic across solar, hydrocarbons, batteries, and other sources

BLACKROCK $BLK'S JAY JACOBS: INCOME INVESTING NOW MAKES SENSE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TOO The demand for income is rising at both ends of a barbell, and the millennial end breaks with conventional wisdom: - On one end, over 11,000 people turn 65 in the US every day, and as boomers retire they shift from a growing portfolio to a spending one that needs consistent income - On the other end, many millennials prefer the tangible feel of a recurring distribution over growth that comes and goes with market volatility - Millennials with variable income, entrepreneurs, gig workers, people back in school, may genuinely want portfolio income for steadier household cash flow

BLACKROCK $BLK PRIVATE CREDIT FUND CEO PHIL TSENG TO EXIT Phil Tseng, CEO of publicly traded BlackRock TCP Capital $TCPC, is in the process of leaving BlackRock, per Bloomberg. He remains an employee for now, with the timing and plans not yet finalized. The exit follows months of losses on soured loans and a US probe into the fund's valuation practices. Federal prosecutors at the Manhattan US Attorney's office have questioned executives as part of that scrutiny, per Bloomberg. TCPC wrote down its net asset value twice this year, by 19% in January and 5% in May, and its shares are down 39% year to date through Tuesday's close. BlackRock bought HPS Investment Partners in 2025 for about $12B to expand in private credit, and HPS executives have become increasingly involved in running TCPC.
