Wolfe Research Downgrades $HD to Peer Perform from Outperform Analyst comments: "We are downgrading HD to Peer Perform from Outperform. As a matter of firm policy, we don't have price targets on our Peer Perform-rated stocks. That being said, HD should trade in the low- to mid-20s P/E multiple. We view Home Depot as a show-me story, as the Large Pro acquisitions are yet to pay off and the housing market remains set to be locked in for years. If there are changes to affordability, then we could see EHS improve, but that is likely to be a 2027-and-beyond story. HD's valuation has de-rated recently and is now trading at 21.2x versus LOW at 16.7x, TSCO at 13.6x, and FND at 24.7x, referring to NTM P/E. To put this valuation in context, it is -0.2 standard deviations below the 5-year average, which puts it in the 42nd percentile. This compares to LOW, which is trading -0.3 standard deviations below its 5-year average. Relative to the S&P, HD's valuation looks reasonable, with the stock trading at a 50bps premium to the market, versus its last 5-year average of a 10% premium." Analyst: Spencer Hanus
