A TON OF THINGS HAPPENED IN THE STOCK MARKET TODAY. Here's a full recap: 1. The U.S. reportedly offered Iran a deal to halt the siege and lift sanctions in exchange for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending proxy attacks, according to Al Arabiya. Axios also reports that Rubio told several foreign counterparts the U.S. does not plan new strikes on Iran for now, with pressure shifting toward the naval blockade and new sanctions campaign instead. Crude Oil fell 4% and the 10-year treasury bond fell from 4.72% to 4.62%. 2. Global physical gold-backed ETFs $GLD attracted $6.4B of inflows last week, their largest weekly intake since January and the 3rd-largest weekly inflow on record. North America led with $4.4B, followed by Europe at $1.7B and Asia at $300M. This marked the 7th straight week of inflows, with global gold ETFs pulling in $16.4B over that stretch. Total AUM in global gold ETFs rose by $33B last week to $615B, the highest level since the second week of May. 3. Intuit $INTU reported Q4’26 revenue of $4.4B, beating estimates of $4.27B and up 14% YoY. Adjusted EPS came in at $4.03 versus $3.58 expected. Global Business Solutions revenue rose 14% YoY to $3.4B, the Online Ecosystem grew 17% YoY to $2.6B, Consumer revenue increased 14% YoY to $930M, and Credit Karma revenue rose 16% YoY to $743M. For FY27, Intuit guided revenue to $23.3B–$23.5B versus $23.72B expected, while adjusted EPS guidance of $22.88–$23.12 came in well below the $27.32 estimate. The company also raised its dividend 15% YoY to $1.38/share, bought back $5.5B of stock, and has $7.9B remaining on its authorization. Management said its strategy is to win as an AI-driven expert platform while staying disciplined on investments and scaling its big bets. 4. President Trump said the U.S. Navy has removed and/or detonated all mines from international waters in the Strait of Hormuz. He said Iran has been notified that any ship or boat placing new mines will be “immediately and systematically destroyed.” Trump added that Space Force is monitoring every square inch of the Strait, along with Pickaxe Mountain and the three previously destroyed nuclear sites, and said a “Zero Tolerance” policy on mine placement is now in full effect. 5. Canada is responding to U.S. tariffs with new tariffs of its own. The country is raising steel tariffs to 50% from 25%, while roughly 700 products will face new tariff rates of 15%, 25%, and 50%. The measures are set to take effect on September 8, marking another escalation in the U.S.–Canada trade dispute. 6. Anthropic is expected to tell IPO investors its total addressable market exceeds $30T, topping SpaceX’s $28.5T estimate, according to WSJ. The figure represents the potential value of work Anthropic believes AI models could eventually perform, not a direct revenue forecast. Anthropic generated $11.6B in Q2 revenue and could seek to raise as much as $100B at roughly a $2T valuation. IPO documents are expected within weeks, potentially setting up a September or early October listing. 7. OpenAI’s data-center head Chris Malone left the company last week, according to WSJ. Malone joined in March 2025 shortly after Stargate was announced and played a key role overseeing OpenAI’s massive data-center buildout. He previously led data-center strategy at Meta and earlier worked on data-center technology at Google. The departure comes just weeks after OpenAI also replaced its chief revenue officer, adding another senior leadership change as the company races to scale infrastructure, revenue, and compute capacity. 8. ClickHouse has surpassed $350M in annual recurring revenue, up 40% since May, as AI agents drive demand for database and observability infrastructure. OpenAI’s usage has reportedly grown roughly 10x over the past year to more than 30 petabytes of data per day, or around 30T events daily. OpenAI has also shifted parts of its log-management workload from Datadog to ClickHouse over the past year. ClickHouse was valued at $15B in January and says gross margins currently range from 50%–70%. Earlier this year, the company acquired Langfuse to expand deeper into monitoring AI applications and agents. Nebius $NBIS owned a 28% stake in ClickHouse as of May 2025, though that stake has likely been diluted by subsequent fundraising. 9. JPMorgan reiterated its Overweight rating on SpaceX $SPCX with a $240 price target, saying the company’s AI ambitions are coming into sharper focus and that it is increasingly positive on Grok. The firm highlighted SpaceX’s completed acquisition of Cursor on 8/14 as an important step in building enterprise AI capabilities. Cursor brings roughly $4B of ARR as of June 2026, with about 75% coming from businesses, which JPMorgan says should help streamline go-to-market and provide valuable model-training data. The firm also said Cursor data is already showing up in Grok’s supplemental training, with tangible improvements in recent model performance. 10. OpenAI says its new Broadcom-built Jalapeno AI chip outperformed Nvidia $NVDA GB300 in both throughput per watt and response latency during internal testing, according to Bloomberg. The chip is built specifically for inference, not training, and runs at roughly 700 watts. OpenAI plans to begin deploying Jalapeno for its models later this year, saying the performance gap widened on larger workloads, including Moonshot’s Kimi model, and that the chip has also performed well on unreleased OpenAI models. The key caveat is that Jalapeno was tested against GB300, not Nvidia’s newer Vera Rubin generation. OpenAI says a second-generation chip is already nearing tape-out, while work on a third generation has begun. 11. The top 10 most active options today by contracts traded were $NVDA with 1.8M contracts, $TSLA with 1.8M contracts, $AAPL with 636K contracts, $SPCX with 548K contracts, $INTC with 540K contracts, $AMZN with 498K contracts, $MU with 483K contracts, $AMD with 403K contracts, $PLTR with 361K contracts, and $SOFI with 359K contracts. 12. Raymond James raised its Nvidia $NVDA price target to $352 from $330 and reiterated a Strong Buy rating. The firm says Nvidia’s CPU opportunity is becoming more important, especially for agentic AI workloads, even though CPUs are only about 3% of sales today. Raymond James expects CPU revenue to reach roughly 5% of total revenue by CY28 and believes Nvidia could potentially become the world leader in CPU revenue within several years. The firm also argued the stock remains inexpensive, trading at less than 15x CY27 GAAP earnings, below the S&P 500 at 18.6x, despite sales and net income growth still expected to exceed 20% in CY28. Its new $352 target is based on a 22x multiple on CY28 estimates, which Raymond James views as conservative given Nvidia’s leadership, CUDA moat, GPU performance, free cash flow, and history of trading at much higher multiples. A TON OF THINGS HAPPENED IN THE STOCK MARKET TODAY. Here's a full recap: 1. FOMC decision week began with a clear AI rotation: long software, short semis. Nvidia $NVDA, Marvell $MRVL, Sandisk $SNDK, AMD $AMD, Nebius $NBIS, Micron $MU, CoreWeave $CRWV, and Intel $INTC were down 3%-7%, while Palantir $PLTR, Atlassian $TEAM, CrowdStrike $CRWD, ServiceNow $NOW, Adobe $ADBE, and Intuit $INTU were up 2%-5%. The move reflected a market trying to reprice the AI trade after the weekend’s safety debate around Dario’s essay. Semis and neoclouds sold off because their bull case is tied directly to continued AI capex growth which the market interpreted as slowing down if the pace of frontier model development slows down. At the same time, Trump rejected the calls to slow down as he posted that AI needs a “STRONG AND SMART” president rather than guardrails, said the U.S. was leading China in AI, and separately said Iran wanted to make a deal and that the US was open to engaging. Oil crossed $105 and the US 10-year treasury yield crossed 5%. The Fed will make their decision for a rate hike on Wednesday. 2. Palantir $PLTR, Nvidia $NVDA, and Booz Allen Hamilton are reportedly restricting Anthropic’s Fable model for sensitive work over concerns about its data-retention policies, according to The Information. Some enterprise customers are demanding irrevocable zero-data-retention guarantees before putting proprietary information into the model. Anthropic reportedly introduced rolling 30-day usage logs for safety monitoring in June, while its planned option for eligible customers to store logs themselves can still be revoked. Palantir is withholding Fable from its platform until it receives irrevocable zero-data-retention guarantees, Nvidia is limiting Fable to less-sensitive work while using Nemotron for sensitive internal projects, and Booz Allen is excluding Fable from work involving its proprietary cybersecurity software. 3. Trump called Jensen Huang during the All-In Summit and was put on speaker phone, where he defended the AI data center buildout and pushed back on recent concerns. “I'm telling you it's all a hoax. The data centers are great. They make people wealthy. They make states wealthy. AI is bigger than the internet. These people are playing right into the hands of China. We're not going to let that happen,” Trump said. Jensen responded, “You're right, we're not going to let that happen sir.” Jensen also said the fears from over the weekend were made up and that the companies involved have the control they need to navigate the concerns. 4. OpenAI has acquired Glass Imaging, an AI camera startup founded by former Apple engineers, for more than $300M. Glass is working to bring DSLR-like image quality to smartphones, and the deal comes as OpenAI and Jony Ive continue developing new consumer hardware. OpenAI’s exact plans for Glass remain unclear, but the acquisition is notable given Glass was valued at roughly $100M just last year. 5. Truist initiated Nebius $NBIS at Buy with a $355 price target, calling it a scaling AI-native hyperscaler still early in its infrastructure buildout. The firm believes consensus 2027E ARR estimates are conservative given recent pricing of $20M-$25M/MW for 1-3 year deals and $40M-$50M/MW for shorter-duration contracts. Truist sees a major opportunity ahead, estimating a $2.1T annual revenue opportunity at the cloud layer by 2030E, with scarcity and contract economics supporting upside to pricing and revenue. The firm also sees multiple paths for Nebius to reach 20%-30% adjusted EBIT margins over the medium term. 6. The top 10 most active options today by contracts traded were $NVDA with 3.2M contracts, $TSLA with 2.4M contracts, $AAPL with 1.6M contracts, $MU with 1.1M contracts, $AMZN with 957K contracts, $META with 906K contracts, $MSFT with 874K contracts, $INTC with 835K contracts, $GOOGL with 734K contracts, and $SPCX with 688K contracts. 7. U.S. consumers aged 40-49 now account for 26.8% of new consumer bankruptcies, their highest share since Q3 2015 and the largest of any age group. The 50-59 group represents another 23.1%, bringing Americans aged 40-59 to 49.9% of all new consumer bankruptcies, the highest share since Q1 2017. For perspective, that figure peaked at 54.3% in Q4 2011 after the 2008 Financial Crisis. Consumers aged 70+ now make up 21.5% of new bankruptcies, their highest share since Q2 2017, while Americans aged 18-29 account for just 5.9%, the lowest since Q2 2014. 8. JPMorgan upgraded IREN $IREN to Overweight and raised its price target to $65 from $46, saying the company is emerging as a top-tier neocloud provider. JPM cited IREN’s NVIDIA partnership, stronger customer momentum, and rising AI infrastructure pricing, noting neocloud contracts have moved from roughly $10-$15/W to $15-$20/W+, while customer prepayments of 25%-50% are helping fund GPU purchases. IREN has raised its year-end 2026 ARR target to as much as $4B, with roughly $1B of operating ARR today. JPM also highlighted IREN’s Microsoft buildout, recent deal with an unnamed frontier AI lab. Looking into 2027, JPM believes IREN’s planned ~0.5 GW expansion could command materially higher pricing, with deals above $15/W creating significant upside to the outlook. 9. Global semiconductor revenue hit a record $425B in Q2 2026, up 31.4% QoQ, according to Omdia. Memory accounted for more than half of total revenue, driven by AI demand and rising DRAM, NAND, and NOR pricing. Even excluding memory, semiconductor revenue grew more than 10% QoQ, well above the historical Q2 average of just over 3%. The industry generated $752B in revenue in the first half of 2026 alone, and Omdia expects Q3 revenue to surpass $500B, pushing the first nine months of 2026 above $1.25T. 10. Apple $AAPL has begun rolling out its new Siri AI in beta with iOS 27, adding personal context across messages, emails, and photos, plus onscreen awareness and systemwide app actions. The new Siri can find information across a user’s device, understand what is on screen, draft emails, add calendar events, and take actions across supported apps. Apple says the new Apple Intelligence architecture uses its own foundation models built in collaboration with Google Gemini, with processing split between on-device models and Private Cloud Compute. 11. U.S. diesel prices have officially risen to a record $6.20/gallon, up 78% over the last 9 months. In California, diesel has surged to a record $8.14/gallon, with some areas approaching $9.00/gallon. The spike comes as the U.S. enters peak diesel-demand season while supply remains historically tight. Jet fuel is also surging, now at $4.35/gallon, up 61% over the last 10 weeks, with prices rising another 10% in the past week as U.S. oil pushes above $100/barrel. Airline fares were already up 23% YoY in August, and if fuel stays elevated, September CPI could show fares rising as much as 30%. 12. The Clarity Act $BTC $ETH moved back into focus after Senate Republicans released a “final” draft ahead of Tuesday’s cloture vote, saying the text includes 126 Democratic-requested changes after more than a year of talks. The bill still needs 60 votes to advance, with Republicans holding 53 seats. Key updates include new ethics language requiring covered officials and spouses to divest certain crypto interests or place them in a qualified blind trust, a role for state attorneys general in enforcement, and a Treasury “circuit breaker” that could restrict stablecoin rewards if payment stablecoins trigger major deposit flight from community banks. The U.S. Senate is scheduled to hold a key preliminary cloture vote on the Clarity Act on Tuesday afternoon, September 15, 2026, at approximately 2:15 PM ET. A TON OF THINGS HAPPENED IN THE STOCK MARKET TODAY. Here's a full recap: 1. President Trump said Iran “will never have a nuclear weapon” remains the administration’s only objective, adding that he has a “big decision” to make regarding the conflict. He also reiterated that he believes the U.S. and Iran will reach a deal after the U.S. election, while saying he would “give no credence to the election” when making decisions on Iran. The remarks come as the administration continues weighing both military and diplomatic options amid ongoing talks with Tehran. 2. Meta $META continues expanding Muse’s ecosystem through new partnerships aimed at turning the AI assistant into a broader consumer platform. The latest integrations include Instacart for grocery shopping and delivery, PayPal for shopping and checkout, Expedia for trip planning and hotel bookings, and Shopify for shopping across millions of merchants. The partnerships significantly expand Muse’s ability to complete real-world tasks directly within conversations, moving beyond simple chat into a full AI commerce and productivity assistant. 3. The top 10 most active options today by contracts traded were $NVDA with 2.1M contracts, $TSLA with 1.5M contracts, $AAPL with 1.2M contracts, $MU with 964K contracts, $META with 936K contracts, $INTC with 816K contracts, $AMZN with 682K contracts, $GOOGL with 662K contracts, $SPCX with 644K contracts, and $AMD with 622K contracts. 4. SoFi $SOFI has become the first U.S. national bank to go live with stablecoin settlement across Mastercard’s $MA network. The company is moving its full debit and credit card program—representing more than $25B in annualized payment volume—to blockchain-based settlement using SoFiUSD, a stablecoin redeemable 1:1 for U.S. dollars. Merchants will not need to hold stablecoins or build new infrastructure, with funds able to settle directly into a SoFi Bank account and be withdrawn as cash. SoFi also said it is in discussions with major U.S. retailers and technology platforms, while it and Mastercard are exploring cross-border payments and remittances as the next phase of the partnership. 5. SanDisk $SNDK jumped 7% after Rosenblatt initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a $2,400 price target, calling it “not your father’s SanDisk.” The firm argues AI is transforming NAND from a commodity storage product into a system-critical component of AI infrastructure, creating a significantly stronger long-term growth story. Rosenblatt also highlighted that SanDisk recently joined the S&P 100, a milestone that could increase institutional ownership and index-related demand for the stock. 6. Michael Burry said he is now at full size across several positions, calling current market prices “rather attractive.” He added to short positions in Micron $MU, Nebius $NBIS, the Semiconductor ETF $SOXX, and Palantir $PLTR, while increasing long positions in QXO $QXO, Build-A-Bear Workshop $BBW, Sprouts Farmers Market $SFM, Birkenstock $BIRK, and MercadoLibre $MELI. Burry wrote, “I find the prices offered by the market rather attractive. All these positions are full positions for me now.” 7. AppLovin $APP was reiterated Buy by Citi with a $600 price target after new data pointed to accelerating e-commerce adoption. Citi said the platform had 13,105 global e-commerce clients as of September 18, up 5.1% week over week, the fastest growth rate in 5 months. International merchant growth accelerated 11.5% week over week, outpacing the U.S., while quarter-to-date weekly growth averaged 2.0%, implying roughly 11,600 e-commerce stores on the platform by Q3 2026. 8. Apple $AAPL unveiled a new Mac mini and Mac Studio, with a major focus on on-device AI performance. The new Mac mini features the M6 chip and delivers up to 4x faster AI performance, starting at $899. The new Mac Studio is powered by the M5 Max or M5 Ultra, with the top configuration offering up to 512GB of unified memory, 1.2TB/s of memory bandwidth, an 80-core GPU, and the ability to run large language models entirely on-device. Apple is also introducing Thunderbolt 5 with RDMA, enabling multiple Mac Studios to be linked together for up to 3x faster distributed AI inference. The Mac Studio starts at $2,499, while the M5 Ultra model starts at $5,499. 9. IonQ $IONQ said it has demonstrated what it calls the industry's first end-to-end real-time quantum error correction decoder running on a standard off-the-shelf CPU. The system was tested on benchmark circuits simulating up to 408 logical qubits and more than 31.5M quantum operations, while adding as little as 0.02% processing overhead. The decoder runs continuously in the background, enabling quantum error correction without interrupting quantum execution. IonQ said the milestone supports its Walking Cat architecture and its roadmap toward quantum systems capable of controlling thousands of qubits. 10. China imported 1,141 tonnes of gold during the first 8 months of 2026, the largest amount ever recorded for that period and already more than the country's total gold imports for all of 2025. At the current pace, annual imports are on track to exceed 1,700 tonnes for the first time. Chinese gold ETFs also added 44 tonnes over the first eight months of the year, up 18% year over year. The surge has been driven by strong investment demand, economic uncertainty, and a stronger yuan, which has made overseas gold purchases more attractive. 11. Spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $999M in inflows on Monday, their largest daily intake since October 2025 and the 9th-largest daily inflow since U.S. Bitcoin ETFs launched in January 2024. The move followed another strong session on Friday, when the funds brought in $433M. Demand was led by $IBIT, which attracted $381M, its third-largest daily inflow since launch, bringing its total over the last 3 trading days to $665M. So far in September, spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted $1.3B in inflows after pulling in $3.5B during August, highlighting continued institutional demand for Bitcoin exposure. 12. President Trump disclosed 1,156 securities transactions made on his behalf in July, totaling roughly $79M–$270M, including at least $43.6M in purchases and $35.6M in sales. The largest disclosed transactions were $5M–$25M sales of $MSFT Microsoft and $AMZN Amazon on July 20, followed three days later by smaller purchases in both companies. Other notable moves included selling $1M–$5M of Oracle while buying stocks such as $NVDA Nvidia, $INTU Intuit, $MRVL Marvell, $CRM Salesforce, and $CHD Church & Dwight, alongside significant rotation through ETFs, Treasuries, municipal bonds, and international bond funds. The White House said the portfolio is independently managed by third-party financial institutions and that neither President Trump nor his family directs the trades. The July filing follows 1,051 disclosed transactions in June, while Trump's 2025 annual financial disclosure reported more than 21,000 trades across 8 accounts.
