  JPMorgan Upgrades $MMM to Overweight from Neutral, Raises PT to $180 from $178 Analyst comments: "We see growth taking hold at 3M, which is required to drive the next leg of EPS growth, with short-cycle indicators continuing to be supportive and artificial intelligence/data center-driven demand broadening into parts of the economy outside of the obvious beneficiaries. Recall that management commented intra-quarter that it expects second-quarter organic growth to be solidly above 3%, versus guidance of above 3% and Street expectations below 3% at the time. Consumer electronics and auto softness—two key areas that continue to be weak pockets for 3M and continue to be revised downward—is offset by strength in data centers and semiconductors, while 3M’s efforts to gain penetration in mainstream markets are taking hold. The U.S. consumer has also been resilient, and we expect 3M to remove the contingency embedded in guidance. Importantly, we see pricing taking hold, which we believe 3M can retain even as inflation eases. Recall that 3M is embedding approximately $125 million in additional costs, assuming an oil price of $100 per barrel. Reflecting efforts in innovation and commercial excellence, this could add approximately $0.10 to EPS on an annual basis in the fourth quarter and into 2027, in our view. We also see additional upside from share-count reduction accretion, where we see some hedge, helped by $700 million in proceeds from the Scott Safety deal, which was expected to close on July 1.   $MMM signed a long-term supply agreement with Airbus to provide thermal and acoustic insulation solutions for the A220 aircraft. 3M said the materials are designed to support aircraft performance, cabin comfort and noise reduction across the aircraft’s life.
