  FDA PLANS TO SPEED AUTHORIZATIONS FOR VAPES AND NICOTINE POUCHES, PER WSJ The agency is expected to announce in coming days that it will revisit a 2021 rule setting requirements for new tobacco product applications, per people familiar. Plans could still change. One option under consideration is simplifying scientific study requirements and speeding review times. The changes matter most for vapes and nicotine pouches, which are not eligible for the simplified path to market available to older products like cigarettes. Congress mandated reviews of around six months, but they often take years. Manufacturers and retailers including Altria's $MO NJOY sued the FDA over the rule earlier this month. Lawmakers from both parties have objected to recent FDA approvals of flavored products including blueberry and mango. An HHS spokeswoman said the administration is "committed to keeping nicotine out of the hands of kids" while providing safer alternatives for adults quitting cigarettes. Dr. Heidi Overton, Trump's nominee to lead the FDA, has her confirmation hearing Thursday.

  ALTRIA $MO RAISES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND 4.7% TO $1.11 PER SHARE The increase takes the payout from the previous rate of $1.06 per share, set in August 2025. New annualized rate is $4.44 per share. Altria has raised the dividend annually every August for the past five years, and targets mid-single digit dividend per share growth through 2028.
