B. Riley Reiterates $PGY at Buy, PT $32 Analyst comments: "We believe the shares of Pagaya Technologies Ltd. are set up well for a catch-up trade heading into the rest of summer. PGY and a few other fintech platforms have been slow to rally compared to others like Dave, Sezzle, and PROG Holdings that rallied significantly in 2Q as gas prices receded and the weak consumer narrative faded. PGY reported strong 1Q results and raised its full-year net income guidance despite a more cautious credit posture that limited platform dollar volume growth. However, the shares are still down approximately 20% year-to-date, versus the Russell 2000 up 20%. We think that is poised to change. We have seen recent insider buying in the open market of $250,000 by the CEO at a price of $15.43, according to a June 25 filing. It is not the first time Gal Krubiner has bought his stock. He also purchased shares earlier in the month and in April 2024, when the shares were weak. We think this makes a lot of sense, especially at the current valuation level of 7.9x P/E on our forward GAAP EPS estimate of $2.10. This valuation level is at a steep discount to the peer group of fintech platforms that we track, which trade at an average P/E of 18x on 2027 forecasts. Short interest, estimated at 19% of the float, appears vulnerable to us at this juncture, with a thesis that seems stale due to improving credit metrics across all asset classes, including personal loans, point-of-sale, and auto loans, more lending partners, a more diversified product platform, and rising ROEs. We see ROEs rising from mid-single digits in 2025 to over 20% in 2026 and to over 30% in 2027. We see nearly 100% upside potential to our fair value price target of $32." Analyst: Hal Goetsch
