KKR MAKES $9B TAKEOVER BID FOR UGI $UGI KKR $KKR offered $42.50 a share, sources tell the WSJ. UGI closed at $35.09 Monday for a market value of around $7.5B, putting the bid at a 21% premium. It could not be learned whether UGI will be receptive, and there is no guarantee of a sale to KKR or any other buyer. Based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, UGI operates natural gas and electric utilities, propane retailer AmeriGas, and a network of natural gas pipelines and storage facilities. It also distributes liquefied petroleum products in Europe. UGI shares rose less than 2% over the past year against 20% for the S&P 500.
